Portion Control

Well it is officially here!!  The start of another football season is underway.  Now I know not everyone here is a fan, but I am sure at some point you will sit down and watch a game.  The problem I seem to have is that I end up eating too much.  There are always snacks to be had and more food than is needed, which means that I stack my plate too high with all of the delicious food.  A solution to this is to use a kid’s plate.  We have quite a few and they are the best thing to control portions.  Instead of piling on the meatballs, or hot dog weenies, etc, only a few of each will fit in its own space.  This means I end up eating less.  Now at some point we all have to have some self control and not go back for thirds or fourths.   It will definitely cut down on the calories and that full belly, I can’t move feeling by the end of the game.

We obviously also use these for the boys as well.  When they're little, it's hard for them to tell when they are "full".  So parents have to use their own judgement and watch how much they put on their kids plate.  The contents also have taken into consideration.  I.E. more fruit / veggies, less chips / junk.

Try them out and see if you stop overeating on game days.

I'm going to confess: I don't like my food touching (I have issues) so my mom threatens to use these plates on me whenever I'm home visiting. I loved them when I was little!!

That is a really good idea. We don't have those types of plates but we do have small plates that my girls use. I could just use a smaller plate.

I am your newest follower. Found you on the Monday Morning Blog hop.

I'll be back to see what ele is here on your blog.

I'm a new follower from Mingle Monday. I totally am with you with the divided plates. I use them for my girls. Perfect for making sure they eat enough as well!

That's such a great idea! Not to blame my parents, but I was always taught to eat EVERYTHING and had to teach myself portion control later in life. It's just one of those things to be smart about when they're young! GREAT idea!

I so wish I would have seen this post just a month or so earlier lol. My husband recently made me finally, finally toss out our divided plates I had gotten for the kids when they were younger. This is such a good idea, I love it!

Stopping by from FTLOB, have a great week! :)
